My Love For Cartoons And Animations

Image
From my childhood, till date, I am a huge fan of animated series and Disney Cartoons and movies. Each time I watch an animated movie or series, it just blows my mind away. Spectacular animation, loads of fun and at the same time, it leaves you cheerful, happy and a lesson for life.   I still remember old Disney cartoons, Mickey Mouse ( my all time favourite), Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Silly Symphony to name a few, have made my childhood memorable. My sister and I used to eagerly wait for Sundays.  We didn't have cable TV then, and Doordarshan used to telecast on Sunday's, back to back, starting with Disney cartoons then Duck Tales, Talespin and Alice In Wonderland..... Wolfing down the hot delicious breakfast of dosas or idlis or brunch Bisibelebhath made by Mommy, we used to devour these cartoons with our eyes. A wonderful treat.... We used to get transported into a world of imagination, adventures, pure fun and entertainment. And I am so glad that Disney and

Languages…... Innumerable and vast. Literally so many. What is a language anyway? It’s a means of communication. What is communication?? Communication means to express what one human being wants to tell another, their feelings, emotions and their wants. Seems pretty simple. But of course, human beings being humans, tend to complicate every single thing. Each language is important, has its own nuances and might be completely different from other language or very similar. I started writing about this after I received a forward about languages and how talking in mother tongue is important and how English has become very prevalent in today’s times and how the younger generation are leaving their roots etc... It’s true to some extent. Mother tongue, has cognitive affect on the brains. It improves speech, thinking capacity.... All agreed! But for me, like religion, language is a private affair. I believe in God(s) and I don’t force my opinion on anyone as how one should pray to God. I do t

Dear Daughter

Your presence our lovely daughter, Has filled our lives with love and laughter. That tiny little girl who is our pet, Has blossomed into the most amazing person one has ever met. Sweet, charming, caring, niece, Live your life and every moment of it you seize. Soar with success high, Sky is the limit, up and up you fly. As you step into your teen, Life has just begun and loads to be seen.. There nothing that you cannot achieve, Most important thing to remember is, in yourself, You Believe..

Poem: Let Go

Let go of the weight, That's dragging you down. Let go of the thoughts That makes you low. Let go of the things, That you have no control on. Let go of the rage, Let the peace in. Let go of the negative, Create space for the positive. Let go of doubts, Replace it with faith. Let go of the conflict in your heart, Replace it with peace.  Let go of the Can't Believe you CAN.  Just Let It Go, HE has our back.  Breathe and all good things you shall Attract!

Poem: I am just a Human Being

I am just a Human Being I am not a citizen of a country, Nor I want to be recognised by the language I speak. I don't want to be known by the city I stay in, Nor by a state. I do not have any caste or religion, Nor do I belong to any creed.  I am just a human, Just like any other under the bright shining Sun. I am, on this Earth, a wee specie, From any kind of labels, I want to be free.  This beautiful nature is the creation of Divine, Whom am I to say all this is mine.. Humanity is the only thing,  One should believe. Each and every living being, Is Equal to Him. Be humane, Be Kind, Live and let live.  Break the bonds of self imposed labels.  We are only, and only the children of Mother Earth, Just one of creations of the Creator!!

My First 100km Ride

Image
After my first long ride till my Mom's house and back, I have been cycling regularly. I got a bit more  ambitious and now I was aiming for a century ride.  Dileep suggested it's better that I ride in and around first to build up the stamina and get used to cycling. So I started riding daily around 5km each day and slowly increasing the distance and duration, once I got into the flow.  One beautiful thing happened. On 1st September, as I was riding I just went with the flow and rode around 11kms that  day.... That night I came across the BIKE30 challenge. We had to ride 10km each day for 30 days in September month. It was like it was meant to be, since unknowingly I had done more than 10km that day. I enrolled for that challenge and enjoyed each bit of the challenge.  With this regular ride, I got the confidence that I could try to do a 100.  I asked Dileep if we could go for a 100km ride in October to commemorate our wedding anniversary and my birthday!! Dileep said sure!! Ye

Minimalism

Have you ever entered a room and got utterly disgusted by the way it looked.  Heavy upholstery, too many knick-knacks and bric-a-brac.  The room, totally bursting out of its seams.  Stuff totally out of place and many things which don't make sense at all.  We humans, by nature, are great hoarders. Right from a tiny pin, plastic covers to other endless items which we think will come to our use sometime in the future. We refuse to part with it. So much is our attachment with the material things!  Apart from these, we have certain sentimental attachment to things given by our parents, grandparent, best friends and the list continues. And so in our zeal to hang on to some stuff, we keep on adding things to our collection, till our cupboards, closets hardly seem to have any place left. And we bring in one more cupboard as we have run out of space to accommodate more items. Now if we answer ourselves truly how often do we ever use those items?  For which reason or occasion have we really
